Elder Brantly and the Brantley Quest!

This is from paul and sorry ive been busy with the play so i will start updating now again this is how his mission is going though!

hola!
ok so i dont have to much time to write but this week has been pretty awesome! scott was baptized last sunday! it was the most smoothly ran baptism i have ever had in my mission! well with one exception. some one pulled the plug to the font and so during the bishops introduction to the ward is was draining really really loud. but he played it off as a joke by saying the more sins you had the louder it is. it was really funny at the time and it really evened the mood. but it is always good to watch someone change thier lives. also we are teaching ken and dicie sizemore. she have been investigating the church for some time and are making steps to be baptized. we are hoping that it will happen this transfer. but that would be a miracle so please pray for them. but during this week we tracted into 2 awesome things. first off a nun convent! the nun were really nice! it just looked like a normal house from the outside but nope. needless to say they were not really interested in the book of mormon. also we were looking for a less active in this apartment complex. and at the front gate there was a call box with a screen so you could scroll thru the names of the people living there. and while we were looking for this less actives name we found the name Brantley. how awesome is that!? we tried calling it but no one answered. and we couldnt find the less active either. then this lady opened her window and asked us what we were doing. so we asked her if she knew the less active which she didnt. then i asked if she knew the brantleys. she said that they just moved like a week before but they were her neighbors apparently he is an african american man. but it is now my goal to find them and convert them! but that is about all i have time for but i miss you all and hope to hear from you soon! keep praying and keep the faith!

another letter from my brother

once again its another letter from elder brownie ha ha i guess thats what he calls him self now because that is how he signed this letter enjoy!!

hey!
life here is k-town is awesome! elder archibald and i are getting along very well :). he is alot like me so we have some fun out there! we like to try to creat different kinds of food. so far we have made some baked bean tacos, crazy pasta stuff, and we have stumbled upon the recipie for the flinstones vitamins....ya haha we have fun tho! we just had a baptism this past sunday for bryan. he is really cool. but the great thing was, he entire family was inactive and now they are active again! we are also teaching this family named the stewards. when we first got and taught them as a referral they didnt look golden. because they had a whole bunch of anti mormon stuff and he is a way inactive member. but they have been progressing! his wife who is not a member called us and told us she feels really good about the book of mormon and is going to take the path that leads her on! so ya! haha i love this work! we have a few other really promising prospects. i am glad the lord can trust us with his children! i read something cool today. in the book of joshua it talks about they had to march around the city of jericho 7 times. every time they were silent except the 7th when they all shouted and that is when the walls fell. in revelations it talks about a book of the history of the world that has 7 seals. we are in the final days of this world. and now more then ever the lord has asked us to shout! and we will watch the walls of the pride of the world that nephi and lehi saw, fall! i love this gospel! haha ok just for another funny note. in my spanish ward they have a hard time saying "Brantly" so eventually one person called me "Brownie" we all had a good laugh and now all of them call me Elder Brownie...i love this work. i miss you and talk to you next week!

letter from paul!

this is another letter from paul to you!

hey!
life here in K-town is awesome! my new companion is elder archibald. he is a newer elder from sandy utah!! thats right! haha but before his mission he was an EMT which means, if you roll your car he is the guy that shows up and keeps you alive till you get to the hospital! But with that training he is obligated to use it when it is need it. so he has a special pack with him all the time. and just the other night we were walking home. and there was a latino guy passed out on the side walk. so he went right to work. then i called 911. it was really cool to watch him work. they soon woke the guy up with some salts. but then we had to translate for him!! haha i love this work! but as far as the gospel work goes. we have some awesome prospects for this transfer. we already have one date for next week. plus some really strong investigators. so we are going to tear it up! our first night in the transfer we were walking around and we found a street vendor. we talked to her for a while. she seemed some what interested but we couldnt get a return appt. but she gave us free tamales! so at that point we decided that this was going to be a good transfer :) i hope all is well for you!
miss you!

another paul note to everyone

here is another note from paul!

SPLOOSH!
thats right! 5 baptisms on easter baby! it was the garnica family. Ahh! it was awesome to see the change that the gospel has brought into their lives! they are moving along so fast! but after the baptism we went to their house for some dinner. tacos de lengua which is in english tongue tacos! and if that is not enough! we also had some fried grasshoppers!! haha i love it! actually both tasted really good! and they taught me how to make them. so when i get home i am going to open a taco truck! today we also got to go to the beach! we get to go once a year. but we still cant touch the water :(. but it was still fun to get out into the sand and play some sports! transfers are this week. and elder hopoate is leaving to a different area! so i will be getting a new companion! im pretty excited! this next transfer in k-town is going to rock! we already have some people lined up for baptism! i love this work! i miss you a ton!
